Xie Lab - Protein Research and Advanced Infrared Spectroscopy

Dr. Xie

Our research is at the interface between physics and biology. We study fundamental properties of proteins, encompassing structural dynamics, energy landscape, and physical bases of protein functionality. An array of experimental and computational techniques are employed in our research, including time-resolved Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, single protein PYP Raman spectroscopy, density functional theory (quantum mechanics), and molecular dynamics simulation. We welcome talented, motivated students from the US and abroad to join our research group to pursue Ph.D. study in physics or photonics.
